Foreclosures of residential and commercial properties in Ventura County increased by 10.3 percent during the first five months of the year compared with the same period last year, a survey shows.Lenders foreclosed on 704 properties in the county from January through May, up by 10.3 percent from 638 foreclosures reported between January and May of 1993, according to the TRW-REDI Property Data survey.
Reflecting an improved economy, the number of property foreclosures in the Antelope Valley dropped 1.3 percent during the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year.There were 2,298 foreclosures in the Antelope Valley through September compared to 2,330 foreclosures during the same period last year. The value of the foreclosures this year totaled $262.4 million, down from $405.9 million last year, according to statistics compiled by TRW REDI Property Data
